Sri Lankan POL SAMBAL
Ingredients:
1 fresh coconut1/2 red onion finely diced
1 limes
1 tbsp of chili powder
2/3 tbsp dry fish powder
salt
pepper powder
chilly flakes
Steps:
1. Crack the coconut in half and scrape the coconut.
2.Add chilly powder, some chilly flakes,salt,pepper powder, dry fish powder and onion into the mortar and grind them for a paste.
3.Add the scraped coconut into the mortar and mix it with grind paste.
*IF you don't have mortar use a grinder BUT be careful don't grind too much because it'll turn into juice or else just mix the ingredients by hands.
4.Take the paste out of the mortar and put it into a plate.
*Now the paste should be reddish.
5. Add the lime juice.
6. Mix well.
7.If you want add some chilly powder,salt or lime and mix a little more.
8. Here your dish is ready. Serve!
NOTE:
You can have the sambal with bread,string hoppers,rice.
